TRIP Program Coordinator
The Colorado Chapter of Partners of the Americas is excited to share the return of the Teaching Readiness Improvement Pedagogy (TRIP) Program. This annual initiative brings English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers from Latin American and Caribbean public schools to Colorado, offering them an opportunity to enhance their teaching skills and pedagogy.
The TRIP Program was launched in 2015 as a collaboration between the Colorado Chapter, the former Minas Gerais Chapter of Partners of the Americas in Brazil, and Aims Community College. Unfortunately, the program was paused during the 2020 pandemic.
In July 2024, the Colorado Chapter successfully resumed the program, welcoming participants from Colombia and the Brazilian states of Goiás and Minas Gerais. The students had the opportunity to complete 130 academic and English language immersion hours by taking classes and visiting Greeley and Denver, Colorado, and Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming. This revitalized effort was supported by the U.S. Department of State, Community Playthings, Partners of the Americas, the Goiás Chapter in Brazil, and the Universidad del Atlántico Student Chapter in Colombia.
We are pleased to announce that applications for the TRIP 2026 Program will soon be open through our network of Partners of the Americas chapters and affiliates. We encourage interested English as a foreign language educators in Latin America and the Caribbean to contact us for more information on how to participate in this impactful program.
